What is Jamorama ?

Jamorama is a learn guitar course that you can download from the internet. It downloads pretty quickly and you can have your first guitar lesson within around 10 minutes.

What Do You Get ?

The amount of content that you get with this course belies the price. It certainly over delivers in this respect.

You get 2 e-books that open up in the Jamorama Maestro Screen. The first book is for complete beginners and consists of 15 lessons plus an Outro. The second book is more advanced and contains 16 lessons.

Within each book there are a number of multimedia extras that aid or demonstrate a point of the teaching.

So you will find about 148 video lessons. By clicking the link in a lesson a new window opens and the video will play.

Plenty of audio tracks – some are just plain tracks while others are jam tracks that encourage you to play along.

Plenty of guitar tabs diagrams that tell you where to place your fingers for certain chords and songs

Are there any Bonuses ?

Bonus Software:
Jamorama Metronome – Get your timing right by strumming to the metronome
GuitearIt! – A game that helps you to read chords and notes by ear
Jayde Musica Pro – Software game for teaching you how to read music
Guitar Tuner Pro – Guitar tuning software

Bonus E-Books:
How to Tune your Guitar e-book
Advanced Learning Techniques for Guitar

There is a membership site that you automatically become a member of when you purchase Jamorama. This gives you access to the forum, the support desk and is where you will find any updates of the course. You have lifetime access to any new updates or bonuses that are added.

You get a 30 day free access to the website Songpond.com. This is a learn guitar website that shows you how to play popular songs through video instruction. I haven’t used it yet but the demonstrations of how it works look good.

How does it work ?

Each lesson has one objective in mind. So one lesson may be to play the A chord. You read through the lesson, which explains more about the topic. At various points you can click on audio or video links to see or hear the chord being played. There is also diagrams of where to place your fingers so that this is completely clear. These are the guitar tablature.

Lessons tend to alternate between introducing a new skill in one lesson to bringing everything that’s already been learned together in another.

What did you like about the course ?

It is very thorough and builds up to the last lessons where you can play fairly complex chord progressions and simple tunes.

The videos are well done. In advanced videos they split the screen to show you the strumming hand and the fret hand. In this way you get a really good idea of what is required to get the same sound as the video.

The forum is quite active and people seem to genuinely want to help you on any topic related to the course or to playing guitar in general

What didn’t you like about the course ?

Being a complete beginner, I had to tune my guitar. Unfortunately it took me a while to find the tuning software. It didn’t come with the download but was tucked away in a section of the membership site. It was not clear how or where the bonuses were but I found them after a bit of searching around.

Verdict

I think Jamorama is a good course. You get a lot for your money and what you get is professionally presented. It explains concepts in simple English although there is a bit of jargon thrown in. This is necessary however if you want to learn the guitar.

Jamorama gives you everything you need to learn the guitar and play it well. With this said, you still have to work at learning the guitar. The skills that you need to play the guitar are very practical or manual skills and these can only really be learned by repeated practice. The key to success in playing the guitar is staying focused and practicing as much as possible.

Want to learn to play songs quickly? Then Jamorama might be for you
Different people want to learn different things on the guitar. While some dream of mastering the instrument, others want only to be able to play popular songs they hear on the radio and jam with friends. There’s a grey area there between wanting to know how to do everything on the guitar, and wanting to just be half decent. Jamorama fills that gap between technical learn to play guitar dvd products like Learn and Master the guitar, and private guitar lessons.

Ready to Try Jamorama Guitar?

Exactly what is the Jamorama Guitar Course
When you buy Jamorama you get two downloaded ebooks, a bunch of video and audio clips, and several bonuses. All of the material interacts with each other as you learn to provide a more multimedia experience while learning. I found while doing this Jamorama review the video files were very well placed and useful.

Each one of the Jamorama guitar lessons begins with one of the manuals (PDF files, also hard copy available). Inside the lesson there are numerous references to video and/or audio files that pertain to this exact lesson. You’ll be prompted to open up a particular video or audio file at each point when it will add to the comprehension of that lesson.

Who should be Buying Jamorama
Unfortunately I wouldn’t suggest Jamorama to an experienced guitar player. I just don’t think there’s enough content there to justify the price. How ever if you’re a beginner, and I define beginner as anyone who has never taken an formal lesson, and can play a few chords but has no technical understanding or theory, then Jamorama is for you.

Learn to Play Songs Fast with Jamorama

What results should I expect learning guitar with Jamorama?
Jamorama is designed to teach you to play songs, learn to play songs by ear, and transcribe music you hear. It’s not a theory intense program, but it does cover the basics. If you’re someone who thinks they’d enjoy learning popular songs, learning to play and sing, and jam along with friends this the best value guitar product I’ve seen yet.

After a few weeks with Jamorama you should be able to play some basic tunes, and you’ll continue to progress from there. The big benefit of a program like this is it teaches you to play songs fast. Most learn guitar programs are very theory and technique heavy. Meaning they spend a lot of time teaching you to read music, and all the technical aspects of the guitar neck, chord construction etc.

Buy or Don’t Buy Jamorama
If you’re looking for a program to teach you guitar fast, or you’re main interest is learning to play your favorite songs and songs you hear on the radio this course is for you. You won’t find a better program under $100 bucks. The audio and videos files are good quality, and there is a lot of lesson content in there for you to continue learning with for several months. How ever if you’re expecting a replacement for a conservatory level private guitar instructor, you will be disappointed.

I say Jamorama is a buy for those beginner and intermediate guitar players that want to learn to play songs, write songs, and learn the basics of guitar theory.
